Grove wrote a book called Only the Paranoid Survive back in 1999. To save you all the $11.53 currently charged at Amazon, it went something like this:
Big changes can happen fast, don't get caught sleeping..be paranoid.
And so I was and have been pretty much since 1999 (which is also when i started drinking coffee and my first kid was born). Generally, it serves me well and forces me to check/re-check my decisions, read a lot and generally be very critical about the decisions I make on any business.
But now it's 12:10am and I haven't slept well for 2 weeks because I'm chomping at the bit to get going with 2009 projects on CiL and build on our success (and put failures behind us) asap. Probably good if you're a shareholder in a business I'm involved in, not so good for me at times.
Maybe yoga or boxing is the answer?
